Setting up Your Hosting Account

After you purchase a hosting plan, you need to set it up before you can use it to host your website.

To Set up Your Hosting Account

  1. Log in to your Account Manager.
  2. Click Web Hosting.

Web/Classic (Hosting Control Panel)

  1. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
  2. Select or enter the domain name you want to use.
  3. Click Upload Your Site.

  1. If your domain name isn't currently registered here, select your transfer options.
  2. If your domain name isn't pointed toward our DNS servers, resolve the issues or skip this step.

 

Linux (cPanel)

Setting up a cPanel shared hosting account changes your domain name's DNS records. This means your existing website and email addresses might stop working. If you're unsure if this will impact your website, please contact our support department.

  1. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
  2. Complete the on-screen fields, and then click Finish.

You can use the New cPanel username and New cPanel password you create to log directly into cPanel athttp://coolexample.com/cpanel, where coolexample.com is your domain name.

Windows (Plesk)


Setting up a Plesk shared hosting account changes your domain name's DNS records. This means your existing website and email addresses might stop working. If you're unsure if this will impact your website, please contact our support department.

  1. Next to the hosting account you want to use, click Launch.
  2. Complete the on-screen fields, and then click Finish.
